Indeed it’s consistent and untiring struggle of the millions that resuted in shape of Pakistan and after about sixty years of its independence is the 7th nuclear power depsite being having weaker economy but envious cultural heritage. Its per capita income has reached almost 850US $ and expected to 1000 $ in the current fiscal year. The present regime took special steps to focus science and technogy, industry and education. For instance, the province of the Punjab, reserved more than 23 b Rupee for education to foucs school education only. On the hand federal government is taking extraordinary interest in higher education and at presnt there are more than 119 public and private universities working in Pakistan. Condersing the number insufficient there have been MOUs with the universities of Technologically advanced countries to establish universities of world reputation. All this has been done in adverse socio-political situations which either promote or demote economic activities in a society. Despite many recent crisis both treasury and opposition benches contributed well to evolve democratic system in Pakistan. You may start questioning me about the form of democracy Pakistan enjoys but question shall remain irrelevant in the current world political conditions especially after 9/11 that surely has brought nations closer but undoubtedly created gulf. Time has come to redefine commitments to each other to have better future of coming generations by supporting cause of peace through cultural exchange programmes which can enhance better understanding among diverse cultures. But it, on the other side, will enbale youth to avoid cynism which has alreday caused damaged to world peace. In my humble opinion programmes like ‘Pakistani Educational Leadreship Institute 2007′ should be focused on grand level to provide maximum chance to the people of both countries, USA & Pakistan, so that innovative ideas may shared and transmitted to those who need them to use for better future of international community.
