Activities in Malakund…

My Young Leaders
Due to the current political and geographical situation of the region some areas like Sawat, Bajore, Malakund and South Wazeeristan of the Pakistan are in a war-like condition. The inhabitants of these areas have been displaced and now they are living in camps, like refugees, in their own country. These people are homeless in their own home and if remedial steps were not taken to help them they will start feeling neglected as it is very painful for them to leave their own homes and live as refugees in their own homeland. I can only pray for them, I feel myself so ashamed, but I cannot do any thing for the welfare of internally displayed people of my country. I thought we must help them as they have given their today for our better tomorrow. They are protecting us from terrorism and are acting as a barrier. We should give them a sense of being with them. They want our moral support—– some consoling words –or –some gestures of love and care.
Seeing the plight of these helpless people, one day I and one of my colleagues Ms. Naina Syed gave an idea to our B.S. Education 1st professional class to organize a Donation Collection Camp in the college campus. So accordingly, a donation camp was arranged by my B.S. Education 1st professional class from 21-05-09 to 06-06-09 i.e. for 12 days. Finally, on 08-06-09 some volunteer boys agreed to visit the camps of IDP’s as well as those terror affected areas to distribute goods, collected during the camps, to those homeless people. This was a great risk for them, but they agreed to go voluntarily not only to give them gifts, but also spend some time with them for their consolation, raising their spirits.
All the boys and girls (ageing 17 to 19) participated very actively during those twelve days. They encouraged the other students of the college also. They even donated their own personal belongings. Their internal motivation, spirit and sympathy for the affected people of their own country really gave a lot of motivation and inspiration not only to others students but to all faculty members also. I strongly desire that if my nation had such an energetic, motivated, sincere and hard working youth, God would definitely protect and save us and my country.
