Hello! The time is almost here!
Hello Everyone- Asa lama lakum!
Just thought I would introduce myself to the incomming group! My name is Sarah Roesener and I will be working as one of the community advisors in the dormitory where all the participants will be staying. It is my job to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible while staying at Plymouth State University and that the dorm has everything it needs for your stay. It is also part of my position to make sure that you all have a little fun while you are here too!
This is my third year working with the institute and it has been such a wonderful opportunity getting to know all of the participants and learning about the Pakistani culture. I enjoy having discussions with all of the participants about our different cultures and educational systems. I just graduated from Plymouth State University with a bachelors of science in Music Education. I am pursuing a Masters Degree in English Education and a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification.

Myself and some ladies from the 2007 institute
I play the flute, a little bit of the piano, and I sing and am really hoping that a few of you would be interested in teaching me some Pakistani songs this summer! I enjoy learning from and experiencing new cultures. I absolutely love learning new languages and have learned quite a few Urdu phrases from the past participants. I ask this years participants- teach me all the Urdu you can and I will tell you what I already know!

Me and Sadaf waiting at the airport!
I can’t wait to meet everyone and am looking forward to my THIRD institute!
I wish everyone a safe trip to the United States- see you soon!
Sincerely,
Sarah
