Bill or Bull
“As flies to the wanton boys are we to gods, they kill us for their sport”, said Shakespeare. Well the time of gods may have passed leaving its mythological memories but I feel in the present world have been replaced by governments which have taken the position of those gods who were fond of playing sports at the cost of their subjects. My sleepless landing at Pakistan was full of such memories which I’ll never be able to forget because they are blended with true love and care. But I have the reason to be dejected when came to know that American Congress has passed a “Bill” for the release of USAID to Pakistan by making it more conditional. I started thinking why congress has not asked Sara Jayne Steen, Blake Allen, Dr. John, Dr. Norris, Dr. Leo, Dr. McGarry, Lisa Ladd, Marry Ann Sullivan, Maggie Moore (her mother as well), Kin, Sara, Sean, Elizabeth, Melissa, Meredith, Rachel, Kris, John, Eddie, Kathy, Julie, John Martin, Jennet, Richard, Marry, Lim, Mick, Rotarians, Teressey Friends at Holderness, Friends at Boston, Washington (D.C) statue of Robert Lee Frost, Trees, Birds, Pemi River, Winnipesauke lake, Samuel Reed, Prospect Hall, Heritage Commons, Boyd, New Found, lawns, Down Town, Wall Mart, Marshall, and all those I met at Plymouth and shared love and honour. Why not some body asked the assistant of Senator Gregg who asked lot of questions and was satisfied? Honourable Senator Gregg whom I met in the corridor and exchanged views. But I feel governments have very little time for common people to ask such important questions and chosen ones are asked and their opinions are always respected. On one side we are taught the lessons of peace, friendship and fraternity whereas on the other the feelings of millions of people are ignored. May I humbly ask? Why? Can some body feel the intensity of tears which I saw in the eyes of my American friends at Logan Airport at the time of departure? Can somebody from the government understand my emotions which came out in the shape of tears when I called Sean (Hey Hey! sonny don’t waste your tears coz they are very precious)? Can somebody understand the truth of Maggie’s motherly love when she talked to us? I hope at least governments can not do it because to feel all this, they have to be common like us who only understand language of love and brother hood. And I’m sure none of the honourable congressmen asked such questions to the common people at
Plymouth (while passing the Bill and converting it into Bull) who loved us unconditionally and were reciprocated twice. If somebody is thinking the passing of such bills could decrease our love he is mistaken because ‘Love Finds its Own Way’.
