Beyond Atomic Bomb, Cricket & Poverty…!

Landing on Quaid –e- Azam International Airport (Karachi) is a key to know a people and country of cultural treasure and will pave way to the traveler to understand 160 million people who are the custodian of great heritage of ancient and modern civilizations. It is easy to have remnants of some civilization but far more difficult to look after what is left for posterity. Pakistan came into existence on the same plea that Muslims of sub-continent were the followers of such civilization that is unique in its nature. Pakistanis are the people who are talented, hospitable, intellectual and working despite being the members of developing country. It inherited poverty and disputes of permanent tensions from its old masters and still striving hard to cope with all sorts of circumstances with commitment and honesty of purpose. Even after 9/11 the only country that has been suffering most is Pakistan where daily innocent people are being killed for the reason unknown to me. In such state of affair I’m astonished to read the statement given by some British friend that the words mentioned in the title, is the recognition of Pakistan whereas Taj Mahal is of India. My friend forgot the name of Shahjahan, one of the great Mughal Muslim leaders, who did not know while constructing Taj Mahal that one day sub-continent will be divided other wise he could build it somewhere in present Pakistan.
It is just a weird notion but in fact nations are never judged on the yard stick that is taken as a funny rod in the hands of children rather total commitment to the ideals it cherish and ideals Pakistan cherishes is to be equal partner in the welfare of the people of the world. Being under developed country it has made tremendous success science and technology without getting disheartened and continuously heading forward.
Its four provinces and Azad Kashmir enjoy rich culture for which thousands of visitors come every year to experience it. Even the disturbed border area people are second to none in their hospitality which could be experienced as a guest and not as a foe. Still people have great tradition to respect elders and treat young ones with and care. Here the parents don’t have to work when their children are grown up. They don’t have pay any sort of money to their own kids to live under their roofs. Pakistani children don’t have to work when they are to play at the age of play. Here festivals are celebrated with all kith and kins without considering their social position. Here friends and cared, neighborers are respected and look after and treated equally. Here sisters are respected in such a way that they are never left alone by brothers rather looked after till death. What not we the Pakistanis have for my British friend to show who thinks that we have only Atomic Bomb, Cricket and Poverty. An example is given below:
Jefferson Thomas Highway close Hampton Inn Washington: A black old man with a slate hanging from his collar on which it was written: Homeless and Needy. One of colleagues helped him saying a human is human…!
Does it mean that the hall mark of the only super power of world is poverty because of one or some poor people? I feel no. It’s the variety the way God’s Cosmos is full of variety that guarantees completeness.
