PELI Technology Workshop - Thursday, 5 July 2007

Published by John Martin at 9:35 am under 2007 Curriculum, Tech Workshop

We will be hosting a technology workshop in Lamson 102 from 1-5 p.m. on Thursday, July 5th. This workshop will include a tour of Lamson Library and its physical and virtual resources as well as project based tutorials which will reinforce the specific skills required by our faculty. We will also be providing additional information on usernames and passwords which are required to access our University’s electronic services and cluster computers.

Our technology workshop topics will include the following:

  • Blogging as reflective practice
  • Using Microsoft Word
  • Using a web-based survey tool - phpESP
  • Using Microsoft Excel
  • Using Microsoft PowerPoint

Our flow will begin with blogging and move into MS Word. We will then explore the web-based survey tool as a critical component of our assessment toolkit. The results of this tool can then be exported as a file than can be brought into MS Excel for analysis. Lastly we will explore MS PowerPoint as a means by which to present your findings.
