What can you tell us about the Urdu language? Why did Pakistan choose this language?
Urdu language is actually a mixture of different languages i.e. Arabic, Persian, Hindi and English. Back In 1947 when Pakistan came into being, a lot of peoples migrated to this area from different regions of Subcontinent and there was a lot of cultural diversity In different areas of Subcontinent so it was the most acceptable and convenient language of communication. Samia,
Maybe you could write some Urdu on a chalkboard for me and I could video you doing that? Then you could write a translation in English……? Just an idea.
