Yes, Khurshid sahib, Beena Ji are quite right Ms.Sadia is really doing an amazing work. i remembered when few days back she called me and requested for the seminar in her institute. I asked certain questions from her about her activities, she replied i am trying my level best. At that time i was thinkg that this program will be a small scale event and just a lecture to the students but when i entered the seminar room, i become surprised. and was thinking that this lady is really committed what she said and planned about her future role for the environmental stewardship few months ago in PSU she done. Because the posters, the themes (slogans), the decorated walls and surroundings with the environment related messages all is not less than a mega event or internal environment day celeberation.

During the session all the faculty members and students took keen interest in discussion and try to learn more about the global as well as national environmental problems.

The presence and the speach of the VC made this event more fabolous, she really encouraged all the students and the faculty for promoting the environmental awareness in the campus and surrounding.

I would like to share few touchy themes of the event whose interpretation was rerally unique;
Not polluted but green world; in that poster Ms. Sana draw eyes with green iris and she shared if we change our attitutdes towards positive thinking for the environment than our eyes become green and we will see green.
Nabeela Bukhari’s poster theme was live in green planet was made of dried leaves and was really good.
the third but not less than any one; was of the Ms.beenish poster plant more trees, no doubt all the themes were really good.
but any how, three students themes and posters were selected by us the best among the 39 posters;
Mr. Ghulam Murtaza (Greenery makes a difference), Ms.Khalida (Enigma of survival) and Ms. Sehar (Dream Green).

All these efforts are the result of Sadia’s few months hard work, special efforts and dedication for the cause of environmental protection and conservation. she really deserve for special congrates for celeberating this event.

Just to remind the silent fellows;We all need to play our roles and responsibilities as a good citizen and environmental steward with in our society structure (that was the main objective of the PELI 2008 training session).

I was really inspired by Saadia’s efforts in promoting Environmental awareness and education in the youth of Pakistan . We face enormous challenges in sensitizing the young people to the issues of environment . As educators we all need to join hands and flag this cause for our future generations . I was present at this exciting event and it was wonderful to see how the partnership between PSU -PELI team , ITA and all of you has blossomed into a vibrant and dynamic sharing process .

We have called for a sharing session of Saadia ‘s work at our ITA office in Lahore this week . Saadia will be giving a presentation and we would gladly share it with all of you . We could be
possibly linking up with our alumni hubs through the video conference set up.

Congratulations to our PSU friends for being a source of inspiration to our Pakistani alumni .

The outline of the seminar “Environmental Awareness and Education” seems to be quite attractive. Please do share with us the outcomes and lessons learned. I am particularly interested to learn more about ‘Teachers’ possible role in environmental conservation’ .
