Our first session…OBSERVATION
It was an excellent experience to have our first class at the institute for the evaluation project. Even learning a lot about research and evaluation, I always feel I know too little. Today the best thing I learnt was that if we have multiple observers, or multiple observations of the same event or scene, we can make the observational data more reliable. But on the other side it is a challenge in itself how to keep our observations restricted and not to go into the irrelevant details. Could a checklist help to solve this issue? or would it restrict the observation too much…? What do you suggest? please comment!

From what ive seen of some tests - many people use a mix of two things. A checklist portion — and perhaps an open response area where people may write their observations. this might be helpful, this might not be - depending on the circumstances.
