Congratulations Sadia!
Miss Sadia Shaukat from the University of Education, Lahore attended the Pakistani Educational Leadership Institute in summer 2008 at Plymouth State University, where she developed her action plan under some strategies and started working on it after coming back from training in on Environmental stewardship. She demonstrated good leadership skills while implementing her action plan.
Miss Sadia Shaukat (PELI 2008) conducted a seminar on “Seminar on Environmental Awareness and Education” on 19th January 2009 at Township Campus, University of Education. Miss Sadia Shaukat (PELI, 2008) highlighted the importance of environmental awareness and education to postgraduate students; specifically she stressed to impart environmental education in our daily life.Mr Waseem (WWF) was invited as a resource person on this event for raising environmental awareness among prospective teachers through activity based learning.

On 19th January 2009, a poster competition on the different themes of environment was arranged at township campus, university of Education by Miss Sadia Shaukat (PELI, 2008).with the help of trash material different posters were prepared by postgraduate students. The ultimate theme of this event was “Green is a survival need”. After the critical review of three panelists (Mr. Waseem(WWF),Dr Saeed Akhtar,Registrar UE,and Dr Rabbani, professor UE) certificates were awarded to students.

A talk on Climate Change and its impacts was organized by Miss Sadia Shaukat (PELI, 2008) on 15th March 2009 at Township Campus, University of Education.Two resource persons were invited, Mr Aneel Salman (economical environmentalist) and Mr Ali Hassan Habib (director general of WWF).Mr Aneel salman emphasized the conservation of natural resources and climate change and its impact on human survival, specifically on mountains, vegetation, glaciers .Mr Ali Hassan Habib presented the changing situations of various glaciers due to climate change. Postgraduate and under graduate students participated in this talk and decided to make their research projects on this theme.

Miss Sadia Shaukat (PELI, 2008) arranged an art and craft competition on environmental strategies among B.Ed teachers at Township Campus Lahore. Students prepared environmental strategies on the conservation of resources, like be energy efficient, go paperless when possible, and Ramp up your recycling, protection of environment.
