He was watching very closely the aging woman at work sewing without any thought of life but the work. Her prominent facial features announec that she must have been a pretty woman some years ago. And it didn’t seem that she was sewing her own clothes as they were of costly nature which made her forget her sorrounding. But sometime the serenity was disturbed when the lady said ” John! are you paying full attention to your work my child? Yes ma, was the answer. A boy of 13 could’nt understand consistance of her mother’s work which she seemed to keep at any cost. The day came when John asked, mom will you get me football this summer? Yes darling but not this summer, hmm surely the next and my baby will play with mama. John again believed as he has been for many summers, hoping the next summer will be better than the prvious ones. Next summer brought no new football but funeral of the lady passed away as the gentle souls leave the world without creating noise. The death of mother brought half shelterless boy to road where he’d find livelihood and future. Taunts, rejections and indifferent attitude of people made him stronger. He very soon understood the secret of his mother’s dedication to work and the mission she had in her eyes; to get her fatherless son a successful man. He knows why mama always refused to eat when john was having dinner, preferred to wear torn clothes on Xmas by saying, “I never get comfortable in new clothes my son, I don’t need them but wana see Johny wearing new shirt’. John with the image of his mother carried on all what he never wanted to do…The door bell broght him back to the world but before going to the door he just uttered:”At last! I’m rich and famous but what are fame and riches to me without her…”
